THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE GUIDED AND UNGUIDED KAYAK TRIP:

* GUIDED TRIPS – Our GUIDED kayak trips are perfect if you have never kayaked before, if you are not comfortable kayaking on a moving river or if you are not comfortable scounting for the kayak chutes. All of our guides are American Canoe Association (ACA) Certified Level 2 River Kayak Instructors and are First Aid/CPR certified. Our guides will lead you safely through the chutes and down the San Antonio River.

* UNGUIDED TRIPS – Our UNGUIDED kayak trips are a great option for experienced kayakers. The San Antonio River is a single channel with no spurs or tributaries, on this section of the river. There are a number of kayak chutes that you will have scout for and navigate thought. An experienced kayak should have no problem finding the chutes. The chutes are not marked and while they are easy enough to find in normal water flows, they can be difficult to find during higher water flows and care must be take. High water flows are common March-May and after any significant rain event. Getting through the shoots should be easy for an experienced kayaker.
